The protective equipment must be worn during all work:
Protective gloves — To protect hands from abrasions, cuts, or deeper injuries, as well as from contact with hot surfaces and acids and bases when handling chemicals.

WARNING — Risk of injury from chemicals!
Depending on the type and dilution, chemicals can cause burns, irritate respiratory organs and mucous membranes, and be toxic if swallowed. That's why:
- Only have work with chemicals carried out by qualified personnel
- Carefully observe safety instructions for handling chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets
- Don't mix chemicals together
- Prepare the temperature control unit to be cleaned. Remove all existing hydraulic connections.
- Make hydraulic connections (fig.):
- S1 (Clean-5) ↔ C (Thermo-6)
- S2 (Clean-5) ↔ A (Thermo-6)
- B (Thermo-6) ↔ D (Thermo-6)
- Connect the Thermo-6 and Clean-5 mains-connector and switch on the main switch.
- Select [Setting ] > [Cleaning ] > [Interval flow inversion].
- Set parameter to “OFF.”
- Select [User Profile] and set it to "Maintenance".
- Select [Service] > [Parameter] > [Cooling] > [Stepper Motors] > [Positioning KV 1].
- Set parameter to “100%.”
Start cleaning
- Switch on the Cleaning Unit Clean-5 using the button () .
- Cleaning starts automatically. Follow instructions on Clean-5's screen.
- After cleaning is complete, the cleaning rate is displayed.
NOTE!
If the temperature control unit is not operated after cleaning, it is recommended to preserve the temperature control unit with the Clean-5.
Reset special setting: Thermo-5
- Select [Setting ] > [Cleaning ] > [Interval flow inversion].
- Set parameter to “5 min.”
Reset special setting: Thermo-6
NOTE!
After the main switch (QS_1) is switched off and on again, the value of the parameter [Positioning KV 1] is set back to 0 (reinitialized). It is therefore not necessary to manually reset the parameter.
Switch off units: Thermo-6, Thermo-5 / Clean-5

Switch off the unit using the I/O button (
→ The unit switches off and, if necessary, is cooled and depressurised. ). - Switch off the main switch (QS 1).
- Remove hydraulic connections.
