Procedure

ATTENTION!

Working with the unit requires knowledge of the safety instructions and quick guide. That's why:

Read the safety instructions and quick guide carefully before starting any work. The basic requirement for safe work is compliance with all safety instructions and careful action by qualified qualified personnel to prevent accidents involving personal injury and property damage.

NOTE!

The configuration and calibration data are stored on the GIF-61 (A 4) unit board and are therefore lost when replaced.

Cooling and turn off

  • On the basic screen, tap the function button ().
→ The unit cools down until the temperature is lower than the cooling temperature. The unit then switches off.

  • Switch off the main switch (QS 1), pull out the mains-connector.

Open front

  • Open the front door and fold the front completely down by loosening the two Torx screws.

Replace unit board

  • Remove all connectors on the GIF-61 (A 4) unit board.
  • Push the GIF-61 (A 4) unit board mounting straps (2) outwards.
    • The circuit board can now be lifted out.
  • Insert the new GIF-61 (A 4) unit board into the appropriate recesses.
    • Check whether the mounting straps (2) are locked in place.
  • Plug connectors back into the GIF-61 (A 4) unit board.
    • Check whether all connectors are correctly attached.

Close front

  • Fold up the front and secure 2x Torx screws.

Switch on the unit

  • Connect the mains-connector and switch on the main switch (QS 1).
    • The unit automatically software-update as needed.

NOTE!

If the configuration is incomplete, the corresponding error message appears on the screen. The error message can be ignored because all data and parameter are then reset by the unit.

Reset data

  • Tap the profile button () on the basic screen.
  • Select [User Profile].
  • Set parameter to “Maintenance.”
  • Select [Service] > [Configuration] > [Reset Complete].
    • Access is via the code "1.2.
  • Tap the reset symbol () to reset all data.

Configuring a unit

  • Select [Service] > [Configuration].
    • Access is via the code "1.2.
  • Reconfigure the unit. When configuration, follow the information on the unit's nameplate. The following parameter settings are required:
    • unit number
    • year of manufacture
    • Temperature
    • hydraulic system
    • unit housing size
    • Heating type
    • pump type
    • Cooling type
    • Mains voltage (U N)

Calibrating the unit

Danger due to incorrect calibrating

Incorrect calibrations can cause device malfunctions. That's why:

  • Verify calibrating

Calibrate pressure measurement

  • Make sure the unit is depressurised.
    • The pressure gauge on the unit should read 0.0 (±0.3) bar.
  • Remove hydraulic connections on the Main line and Return line lines.
  • Select [Display] > [Actual Values] > [System Pressure] or [main Line Pressure].
    • The system pressure should show 0.0 (±0.1) bar.
  • If there is a deviation of >0.1 bar, the unit's pressure sensors must be checked. For larger linear errors, a general deviation (offset) from the pressure sensor must be corrected.
    • [Service] > [Calibrating] > [Pressure] > [Pressure sensor 1 Offset] (System Pressure) or [Pressure sensor 2 Offset] (main line pressure).

Check pressure measurement

  • Select [Display] > [Actual Values] > [System Pressure] or [main Line Pressure]
    • The system pressure should show 0.0 (±0.1) bar. If not, repeat the pressure sensor calibrating.

Calibrate Flow rate measurement

  • Install the hydraulic line with shut-off valve (e.g. HB-TP180 checking facility) between the Main line and Return line connection.
  • Operate the unit in normal operation at 40°C for at least 10 minutes.
  • Select [Service] > [Calibrating] > [Flow Rate] > [Flow rate offset (internal)].
    • Set parameter to 5 l/min.
  • Close the shut-off valve between Main line and return and wait for 1 minute.
  • Read the current flow rate.
  • Set the parameter [Flow rate offset (internal)] according to the following calculation:
    • New offset = 5 L/min — 'current flow' [Flow rate].
  • Open the shut-off valve again.

Check Flow rate measurement

  • Operate the unit in normal operation at 40°C for at least 10 minutes
  • Close the shut-off valve between Main line and Return line
    • The flow rate drops to 0 l/min and the “flow rate zero” alarm message appears with a time delay.
  • Acknowledge acknowledge alarm and open the shut-off valve.

Check function

  • Switch on the unit using the I/O button (), check the tightness and function of the unit.
    • Check unit functions (regulate for the desired set value).
  • Switch off the unit using the I/O button ().
→ The unit switches off and, if necessary, is cooled and depressurised.
  • Switch off the main switch (QS 1).
