An external temperature sensor can be connected to the unit to control or measure the temperature of an external hydraulic circuit (such as an injection mold). For further Information, click here...

Connectable sensor types

  • Thermocouples: type J, K, T
  • Pt 100 sensor: in 2, 3 or 4-wire circuit

NOTE!

With Thermo-6 units, the external sensor is connection via an 8-pin M12 round socket. Thermo-5 units and older series use a 5-pin audio socket.

If the external sensor (e.g. Injection mold) has a 5-pin audio plug, either the T29279 cable adapter (see accessories catalogue) must be used or the plug on the external sensor must be replaced.

When using the T29279 cable adapter, an additional measurement error of up to 2°C may occur. This is due to different transition temperatures in thermocouples and transition resistances in Pt100 sensors. The cable length of the cable adapter is such that it can only be laid behind the front door of the device, including the connection for the external sensor.

If the actual measurement error act known, it can be corrected under [Setting] > [External sensor] > [External sensor offset].
